The Refuge Auto Tour Route is available throughout the year.

From Poplar Bluff, take Hwy 60 east to Hwy 51, turn north.  Follow Hwy 51 north to the entrance on the left.

Miles of Roads:
20 miles, more or less, or road riding.

Equestrian Camping:
Not allowed.

Trail Notes:
This is a level chip and seal paved road that you have to ride.  The area is beautiful with a lot of wildlife to enjoy watching.  It could be a great wet weather season alternative it it’s not water fowl migrating season.  I’d be hesitant to ride here when there’s a chance of 100’s ob birds taking off at the same time.  This is a swamp so bring lots of bug spray for you and your horse.  Make sure your horse is vaccinated for West Nile Virus.

Other Trail Users:
Cars, hikers, and hunters.

Volunteers Helping With This Page:
